Beauty And The Beast at Sarofim Hall

Beauty and The Beast, the musical, premiered on Broadway back in 1994. There's no reason to try and hide this, it was overshadowed because of the success of the Lion King. Over the years, there have been multiple attempts to put the story back into the premium theater scene. After an amazing run in London's West End, and a long tour of Australia, this new version is currently on a US tour. One of the shows just so happens to be in Houston, Texas on Thursday 8th January 2026.

In previous iterations of the show, the set design and the colors of the costumes were both on the darker side. This put a lot of attention on The Beast character. This current production is taking a completely different approach. The focus is more on Belle, as it should've always been. This time around, the audience is welcomed by thoughtfully crafted props and bright costumes that burst off the stage. When you pair that with the uplifting soundtrack, you begin to see why both the British and Australian crowds took a liking to this revival. Sorry for the spoilers, but the grand entrance that Belle's character and the different members of her French village make, is the perfect counterpart to The Beast's world. What happened in both the UK and Australia was that people were super hooked by this point in the play. There's no reason why things will be different this Thursday at Sarofim Hall and the entire US tour for that matter. Gaston's introduction and musical solo tend to be fan favorites. It's actually Belle that the story revolves around though, and for this US Tour they've picked a great actress for the role. At the end of the show, you'll be singing and dancing as you walk out of Sarofim Hall.
